South Dakota woman pleads innocent to drug possessionAn Aberdeen, South Dakota woman pleaded innocent Monday to possession of methamphetamines and cocaine as well as possession and ingestion of marijuana.
Carlotta K. Murrow, 32, asked for a jury trial and Judge Jon Flemmer granted the request. A date for the Brown County, South Dakota Circuit Court proceeding has not yet been set.
A grand jury indictment charges that on Aug. 11, Murrow committed the drug offenses.
The felony charges of meth possession and cocaine possession each carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Each misdemeanor count of marijuana possession and marijuana ingestion is punishable by one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Murrow is currently free on bond.
In other Brown County, South Dakota Circuit Court news from Monday:
• Bradley J. Steinbach, 33, of Fargo, N.D., admitted that he violated his drunk driving probation when he was arrested for driving drunk in North Dakota.
Judge Larry Lovrien sentenced Steinbach to two years in prison and revoked his probation.
Steinbach was placed on a two-year probation on Nov. 29, 2001, after pleading guilty to his third drunk driving offense in 10 years.
Steinbach will receive credit for 141 days he's already served in jail. He must pay a $1,050 fine.
Brown County, South Dakota Deputy State's Attorney Lori Ehlers said Steinbach has been arrested for drunk driving in Colorado, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Lovrien revoked Steinbach's driver's license for life.
• Aberdeen resident Winfield F. Marrowbone, 38, admitted that he violated his probation when he broke a protection order and assaulted a Hub City woman.
Marrowbone asked for a pre-sentence investigation and Judge Lovrien granted the request.
On April 9 Marrowbone was placed on a one-year probation after pleading guilty to his third simple assault in five years.
On Oct. 28 officers arrested Marrowbone for assaulting his girlfriend. At that time he had a blood-alcohol level of .246 percent.
• Aberdeen resident David W. Konickson, 35, pleaded guilty to his third drunk driving offense in 10 years.
Konickson asked for a pre-sentence investigation and Judge Lovrien granted the request.
Konickson was stopped May 28 near the dam at Richmond Lake. The state said he had a blood-alcohol level of .195 percent at the time. The legal limit for operating a motor vehicle is .08 percent. Drug Rehab by County
